Kitty Kollar cares about Big Cats, too
In 2025 our owner had the privilege of traveling to The Pantanal in Brazil to observe jaguars in the wild. Over the course of two days, 4 separate jaguars were spotted including one swimming just in front of our boat.

One of the jaguars was resting in a tree which allowed prolonged observation. From our guide we learned that she is one of the matriarchs in the area, regularly producing cubs and teaching them to hunt caiman and capybara.
According to the Jaguar Identification Project she is called “Medrosa” by the local people. This organization compiles records of all jaguars that are observed, tracks them and their offspring year to year, and seeks to ensure their protection from overtourism, farmers, wildfires and other dangers.
Kitty Kollar was able to sponsor her by making a targeted donation in her honor. This money helps to purchase and maintain camera traps, identify individuals and family relationships and compile the information into a field guide, build and maintain an education center, monitor tourist interactions, and much more.
